Internet Telephony — Challenges and Open Issues

Implementing Voice-over-IP poses major challenges, as it is a service with a long-set tradition of expectations, regulatory encumbrances and a large range of end systems to be used by mostly nontechnical users. This document enumerates some of these challenges and possible solutions.
